JT (Janet) Collins is an author, storyteller, teacher, and business consultant. Her primary interest is in promoting leadership and personal growth through writing, storytelling and circle facilitation both in the USA and Africa.

JT grew up in Mzuzu, Malawi. She spent four years at Rift Valley Academy, a boarding school in Kijabe, Kenya. In 1980, she moved to Alabama to continue her education at Samford University. She earned a BS in Math from Samford University in 1984, and completed Emory University’s Executive MBA program in 2002.

JT has had a widely diverse career working in large companies and entrepreneurial ventures. She has held several leadership positions in professional organizations, educational non-profits, and church. She is a circle facilitator trained by Tracy Roberts at the Circle Center in Nashville, TN.

As a result of several simultaneous, life-changing events, JT started writing in March 2008. Since then she has written several short stories and poems. Her most provocative work to-date is a novel inspired by her personal story of growing up as the lesbian daughter of Southern Baptist missionaries.
